Virtual Reality (VR)

What is Vr?

VR or Virtual Reality provides a computer-generated 3D environment (including both computer graphics and 360-degree video) that surrounds a user and responds to an individual’s actions in a natural way, usually through immersive head-mounted displays. Gesture recognition or handheld controllers provide hand and body tracking, and haptic (or touch-sensitive) feedback may be incorporated. Room-based systems provide a 3D experience while moving around large areas, or they can be used with multiple participants.

The Difference Between AR and VR

Virtual reality and augmented reality accomplish two very different things in two very different ways, despite their devices’ similar designs. VR replaces reality, taking you somewhere else. AR adds to reality, projecting information on top of what you’re already seeing. They can completely transform how Architect Engineering Construction (AEC) Industry to deliver projects such as planning, design, traffic modelling, stakeholder/community engagement, construction and asset management in the future.

DARE Studio is daring to lead the transformation in engineering by integrating AR/VR technologies with traditional practices to deliver the best solutions for professionals and the community.

Uses For Vr

VR has been in development for decades, it’s uses ranging from entertainment, marketing, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

VR Examples

In-depth Home Tours and Inspections take you on a tour around the property before going to see it in person, increasing selling prices.

Immersive gaming experiences, such as Beat Saber, Half-Life: Alyx and more being developed.

Advantages of VR

  • Cross-team collaboration
  • Paperless workforce
  • Design, and testing designs for maximum efficiency or benefit
